Frequently Asked Questions

I've never done Pilates before, and I'm not flexible - can I attend a group class?

Absolutely, you're in the right place. Many of our clients start their Pilates journey with us from scratch, and we love welcoming beginners. We recommend starting with one of our beginner-friendly classes: Fundamental Reformer, Pilates Mat, or Stretch & Restore. Each is designed to build your foundation safely and confidently, no experience needed.

I have an injury, condition, or I'm recovering from an operation - where do I start?

If you're managing an injury, health condition, or post-operative recovery, we recommend starting with a one-on-one session with one of our private Pilates instructors or Accredited Exercise Physiologist. These sessions are fully personalised to your goals, individual needs, and current condition. Together, we'll map out a clear plan, whether that's transitioning into group classes when you're ready, or continuing with one-on-ones for ongoing support, we'll guide you every step of the way.

How do I book in?

Fill out the survey above and one of our friendly staff will be in touch. Alternatively if your ready to go straight into group classes, you can purchase our 2 Week Trial here

Do your classes book out? How does the waitlist work?

Yes, we keep our classes intentionally small so every client receives the individual attention they deserve, which means spots do fill up quickly. We ask all clients to cancel with at least 5 hours' notice; at that point, the next person on the waitlist is automatically added and notified by email and text. Around 90% of waitlisted clients get into their preferred class. If you're added and can no longer attend, simply remove yourself from the waitlist so the spot can go to someone else.

What do I need to bring to my first class?

Keep it simple. Wear something loose, stretchy, and comfortable, anything that lets you move freely. Grip socks are required in class (we sell them at the studio if you need a pair), and bring a water bottle and small towel. That's it, we'll take care of the rest.

I have my kids/look after my grandkids - do you have early morning or late evening classes?

Yes, we do. Our earliest classes start at 6:00am and our last classes of the day run from 7:30pm–8:15pm, so you can find a time that works around your family commitments.

I have done Pilates before and want to continue my progress - what class do I book?

Book straight into our Intermediate Reformer classes.

If you've already got Pilates experience under your belt, there's no need to start back at square one, Intermediate Reformer is designed to build on the foundations you've already got, with more challenging sequences, added resistance, and more complex movement patterns to keep progressing your strength, control, and flexibility.

Before your first class, just let our team know your Pilates background (what you've done, how recently, and any injuries or areas you're mindful of), this helps your instructor tailor cues and modifications so you're challenged at the right level from day one, not guessing where you fit in.

I don't want to go straight into group classes, what other options do you have?

We offer two great one-on-one pathways. Clinical Pilates is delivered by a diploma-qualified Pilates instructor and is ideal if you'd like personalised coaching before joining a group. Exercise Physiology is led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and is best suited to those managing chronic injury, persistent pain, or transitioning out of rehabilitation. Both options give you dedicated, individual attention so you feel confident and ready at your own pace.

I currently do one-on-one Pilates with a physiotherapist but I'm looking for the next step, is this it?

Absolutely. All of our instructors are highly qualified through sought-after training courses and bring real teaching experience to every class. As a studio owned and led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, our focus is on helping people move well and continue doing so long term, not just short-term fixes. Our classes are kept small, with 10–12 participants, so you receive far more individual attention than a typical group setting. Every class is also thoughtfully layered, meaning you can work at the level that feels right for your body on any given day, and progress those layers when you're ready.

It's the best of both worlds: the expertise and attention of one-on-one care, at a group class investment.

I want to improve flexibility as I get older, and reduce my risk of injury - Will this help?

Yes, this is exactly what Pilates is built for.

As we get older, it's not about doing more, it's about moving better. Pilates focuses on controlled, full-range movement that keeps your joints mobile, your muscles balanced, and your body resilient against the everyday strains that cause injury. Pilates helps to make sure that bending, lifting, twisting, and reaching doesn't result in a niggle turning into a setback.

At Pilates Fit Perth, every session is guided by qualified instructors who can modify movements to your body, not the other way around. That means:

Better flexibility through slow, controlled stretching integrated into strength work, not just static stretching, but functional range you can actually use in daily life

Reduced injury risk by building strength around your joints and correcting the imbalances.

Improved body awareness, so you notice and self-correct posture or movement patterns before they become a problem

Most clients tell us they feel the difference in how they move through everyday life, getting up off the floor, carrying groceries, gardening, playing with grandkids - within just a few weeks.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You’re dealing with little aches, tightness, or low-level pain…

And it’s starting to affect your daily life, you know you need something safe, guided, and actually tailored to you (not a one-size-fits-all workout).

  • You don’t quite feel “fit enough” or confident walking into a class… So you stay stuck on the sidelines, even though deep down, you just want to feel strong, capable, and comfortable in your body again.

  • You’ve been wanting to start… but keep putting it off

because you don’t feel “fit enough,” you’re worried about your pain, or the idea of walking into a new studio feels intimidating…but you also know something needs to change

Don't worry, we can help!
